Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Leigha Williams comes to us from Wadesboro, NC. She graduated from Meredith College in 1996 with a BA in Mathematics and a minor in Statistics. She attended the North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine and graduated in 2001. Dr. Williams has worked in rural, small animal practice full-time, but now she enjoys working part-time in the clinic and doing house calls in Wadesboro.
Dr. Williams takes a special interest in small dogs, especially seniors. Knowing first-hand the changes that take place in senior dogs, she believes in helping them live as happy and pain-free as possible. Although she does not enjoy euthanasia, she enjoys helping people through this most difficult transition in their lives and the lives of their small friends. Dr. Williams got her first “indoor” dog when she started veterinary school. One of her proudest achievements is caring for him through all the stages of his life. Never having to spend a night in a hospital, she cared for him at home for fifteen years, including his very last moments. His name was Justin, and he is pictured above. Dr. Williams lives near her family in her hometown of Wadesboro with her two toy poodles, Jodie and Jax. She enjoys cooking, going to concerts, and spending long weekends with her best friend in Raleigh.
