Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Goldsmith was first inspired to work in veterinary medicine by his childhood dog, Pixie. When poor Pixie had an unfortunate encounter with a car, she was rushed to the hospital, where the skilled veterinarians there saved her life. Dr. Goldsmith told his beloved dog that he would one day be able to help animals in the very same wayhe never gave up on his dream! Now, Dr. Goldsmith has been serving the pets and animal owners of the area for 30 years here at Central Jersey Veterinary Clinic.Dr. Goldsmith grew up in New Orleans, Louisiana and remained in his home state for his undergraduate studies and veterinary school at Louisiana State University. After graduation, he worked at a clinic in Rahway, New Jersey for four years before deciding to take the plunge and open his own facility. Dr. Goldsmith opened the doors of Central Jersey Veterinary Clinic to the public in early July of 1986, and has been here ever since.Medically, Dr. Goldsmith has a special fondness for clinical pathology, diagnostic work, and foreign body removal. Most of all, he loves bumping into his clientele around town. For him, the hospitals clients are more than just patientstheyre truly a part of the family!When hes not caring for the areas pets here at the clinic, Dr. Goldsmith enjoys reading, getting out to the racquetball and basketball courts, spending time with his children and grandchildren, and playing chess. He used to coach a high-school chess team, and even led the group to a championship!
