Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Robert Markowitz, who has owned and worked at Boulevard Veterinary Clinic since 2000, grew up in Scotch Plains and has always known he wanted to be a veterinarian. "I've been motivated to do this work since my earliest memories," he said. In fact, he pursued his dream and put it to practical use early in life by working as a veterinary technician in high school. Dr. Markowitz earned his bachelor's degree in biology from the University of Pennsylvania in 1990 (having graduated magna cum laude) and received his Veterinariae Medicinae Doctoris (VMD) from the University of Pennsylvania College of Veterinary Medicine in 1994. Today, Dr. Markowitz has professional interests in general medicine and surgery. He is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the American Animal Hospital Association and the Association of Avian Veterinarians. Dr. Markowitz and his wife and their two children share their home with a shih tzu named Stitch, a cat named Lilo, and a poodle named Fred. He relaxes away from the clinic by traveling, swimming, ice skating, and watching the Rangers, Yankees and Giants.
