Veterinarian Overview
I grew up in South Africa and graduated from the University of Pretoria in 1978. The school is known as Onderstepoort, which literally means "under the paw". After working in a small animal practice in Cape Town for a year, my wife, Joy, and I traveled to Europe and finally settled in England where we remained for three years.I became a member of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons and practiced in a small village about thirty miles south of London. I was a real "James Herriot", spending a lot of time on the farms caring for cows, horses, pigs and any other animal that came my way. Finally, in 1983, we arrived in New Jersey and I became the owner of the Marsh Hospital for Animals in 1984. Today the practice is a busy three-veterinarian hospital in Verona utilizing many different highly skilled specialists, all of whom help us provide our best friends with excellent health care. We strongly believe in practicing preventative medicine and are fortunate to have many pet owners in our area that consider their pets to be "part of the family."
