Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Heidi Gordon grew up in Atlanta, Georgia. While growing up she cared for and fell in love with many family pets. She also worked at her Uncle's kennels and joined him at obedience shows with his golden retrievers. Dr. Gordon studied Environmental Science as an undergraduate at Lewis and Clark College in Portland, Oregon. She then worked in the Pacific Northwest for a few years in the environmental field. Dr. Gordon also worked in a research lab at Oregon Health Sciences University that studied nerve regeneration. Her love for animals led her to return to Georgia to purse a degree in veterinary medicine from the University of Georgia. She graduated in May, 2003. After graduating from veterinary school Dr. Gordon completed a yearlong internship in Rochester, NY. During her internship she had additional training with specialists, general practitioners, and in emergency medicine. Dr. Gordon relocated to the Capital District during the summer of 2004 to be closer to her husband's family. She joined the Burnt Hills Veterinary Hospital at that time. Dr. Gordon enjoys all aspects of veterinary practice including internal medicine, dermatology, and surgery. She especially loves helping people find the best possible treatment plans for their pets. In her free time Dr. Gordon enjoys hiking, bicycling, reading, and spending time with her husband and daughter (who was born January 2007). She also shares her home with a two sweet pets, a dog and a cat.
