Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Karlin graduated from Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2006. He went on to complete an internship at Alamo Pintado Equine Medical Center and a residency in Equine Surgery at the University of Illinois. During his residency he earned an MS with a thesis on the comparison of ultrasound and MRI with regard to tendon healing. He went on to work at Ruffian Equine Medical Center and Mid-Atlantic Equine Medical before deciding to train in small animal surgery in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. At Lauderdale Veterinary Specialist Dr. Karlin completed the ACVS requirements for Dual Certification in Surgery under the guidance of Dr. Avery Bennett. In 2015 Dr. Karlin became the first surgeon to be dual certified in small animal and large animal surgery by the American College of Veterinary Surgeons.
Dr. Karlin joined the veterinary team at IVG MetroWest as a surgical specialist, with special interest in orthopedics, minimally invasive surgical techniques, and soft tissue surgery.
