Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Joe was born and raised on a small farm in New Hartford, New York. He completed his undergraduate work in Biology at SUNY Albany. He went on to complete his Masters degree and the requirements for his D.V.M. at the University of Illinois, graduating in 1985. He began his career in 1987, practicing both large and small animal medicine at the Rome Veterinary Hospital. In 1992, he and a partner formed the Adirondack Veterinary Service where he practiced exclusively on large animals. He left Adirondack and formed a solo mixed animal practice in 1999. There was a brief interruption in Dr. Joes career in 2003 when he took time off to recover from back surgery. 2004 found him back at work in Albany at the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets and as a relief veterinarian for small animal practices in that area. His tenure at the Marcy Veterinary Clinic began in December 2015 and he currently works there on Mondays and Tuesdays. When Dr. Joe is not working, he enjoys time at home reading, watching sports, and gardening. He has also been known to enjoy a round of golf or two. He and his wife Lynda have a fondness for rescue animals and currently share their home with 6, three dogs and three cats.
