Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Hood has been passionate about caring for animals since childhood, but her path to becoming a veterinarian was not direct. In college, she earned her Bachelors degree in English Literature and Greek and Roman History. It was not until after she graduated that she decided to follow her dream of becoming a veterinarian, so she returned to college and spent the next 3 years completing her pre-vet classes. In 2011, she graduated as a DVM from Ross University. For Dr. Hood, the most rewarding part of her career is creating close relationships with clients and their pets, and caring for pets through every stage of their life. She also enjoys cytology/pathology and geriatric care. She and her husband, Mark, have 2 daughters; Grace and Mabel. They also have 4 pets: Eva, a Lab/Weimaraner mix, Wally, a Schnauzer mix, and 2 cats, Georgia and Patty. Outside of work, Dr. Hood loves spending time with her family, reading, traveling, photography, painting and gardening.
