Veterinarian Overview
Originally from Fair Haven, New York, Dr. Sara Heslop received her bachelor's degree in biology from Cornell University before being awarded her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Tufts University in 2011. She received the International Veterinary Medicine Post-Graduate Certificate and Sarah Lee Irwin Wildlife Medicine awards. She completed an internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Oradell Animal Hospital in New Jersey. Her professional interests include conservation, zoo, wildlife medicine and the "One Health" approach to the intersection of human and animal medicine. She shares her home with two cats, Darwin and Gibson, as well as two mixed breed dogs, Odin and Pheobe. Her hobbies include traveling and volunteering for animal conservation and health programs worldwide, such as Bambelela Primate Sanctuary in South Africa and Northern Lights Wildlife Sanctuary in British Columbia. She also enjoys outdoor activities, such as hiking, kayaking and camping, as well as painting.
