Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Silva has lived in Westchester County since childhood, graduating from Pleasantville High School and receiving her Bachelor of Science degree from Rutgers University, Cook College. She obtained her DVM degree from Cornell University and received additional training for exotic animals after graduation. Dr. Silva has been practicing in White Plains for two years before joining Somers Animal Hospital. Dr. Silva's passion for her patients and their well-being compelled her to seek additional training in traditional Chinese medicine, becoming an acupuncturist through the Chi Institute. She is certified to collect, process and administer stem cell therapy for patients with chronic conditions such as arthritis. In addition, she has completed training reinforcing client communication to enhance patient care at the FRANK program through Colorado State University. Dr. Silva is recently married and a new neighbor in Somers with her husband Steven and her two daughters. She shares her home with her standard poodles Charlie and Penny. She joins the Somers Animal Hospital team with unique approaches to managing painful conditions in our pets.
