Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Tom Wiles is the owner of Pittsburgh Spay & Vaccination Clinic and has enjoyed a career of service to Pittsburgh families and their pets since 1983. A native of Butler, PA, Dr. Wiles was awarded a B.S. in Biology from Muskingum College in 1974 followed by three years at Miami University where he received a M.S. in Medical Microbiology and Immunology. Continuing his education in the Buckeye state, a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from The Ohio State University was granted in 1981. An internship at a large specialty hospital in Hollywood, Florida played a formative role in honing his surgical skills, but the Wiles family knew Western Pennsylvania would be their home. In addition to private veterinary practice, Dr. Wiles was the Medical/Surgical Consultant to Animal Friends Shelter for 23 years, responsible for surgery and the health of shelter animals. He is a member of the Veterinary Cancer Society, the American Veterinary Medical Association, the PVMA and the Western PA VMA of which he served two terms as president. Dr. WilesÂ’ special veterinary interests include soft tissue surgery and surgical oncology and chemotherapy and Gerontology.Tom and Becky Wiles spend their free time on or in the Three Rivers, visiting their three children in Denver, New Orleans, and LA, or just kicking back with Reese, a spunky Labrador.
