Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Francis is a native of Virginia Beach, Virginia but now she calls Bristol, Tennessee home. She received her Bachelors degree in Biology from Virginia Tech and is a 2008 graduate of Virginia-Maryland regional College of Veterinary Medicine in Blacksburg, Virginia. After graduation, Dr. Francis worked for several years in Knoxville, Tennessee the Tri-Cities area in general small animal practice, shelter medicine, and emergency medicine. Her professional interests include small animal medicine and surgery, emergency medicine, and ophthalmology. When not helping pet owners at Jones animal hospital, she operates an in-home pet euthanasia service called Loving Hands Home Euthanasia (lovinghandshome.com) to help make the difficult time of euthanasia although easier for both pets and owners. Loving Hands provides peaceful and dignified in-home end-of-life care for dogs and cats in Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia. She and her husband, James, are the proud parents of one black standard poodle named Rhett. Outside of the hospital, she enjoys knitting, crocheting, reading, old-time/bluegrass music, and traditional Appalachian cultures and crafts.
