Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Burgin grew up in Scurry, Texas. Being surrounded by horses, cattle and family pets fostered an interest in the care of animals at an early age. He completed his Bachelors of Science degree from Texas Tech University in 2006. During that time, he had the honor of serving as the universitys official mascot, the Masked Rider, for his senior year. Dr. Burgin then attended the Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine and graduated in 2010 along with his wife, Beth. They started their veterinary careers together at a mixed animal practice in Temple, Texas. Since moving back home to the DFW metroplex in 2011, Dr. Burgin owned and operated an ambulatory equine dental service while continuing to develop his skills as a small animal practitioner. His favorite part of being a veterinarian is interacting with clients and teaming with them to reach their desired health goals for each pet. He believes that client education and being able to effectively communicate a plan are the cornerstones of serving each client well. Dr. Burgin became certified in Veterinary Medical Acupuncture in 2014 and has enjoyed incorporating this age-old technique to help improve his patients quality of life and mobility in their senior years. When Dr. Burgin is not at the clinic, he loves to spend time with his wife, Beth, his sons, Joshua and Jordan, and two Golden Retrievers, Molly and Macey. The Burgins enjoy spending their free time being involved with their church, traveling, watching and playing baseball, swimming, and riding horses.
