Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Steven R. Mosier was raised in Hoxie, KS. After high school he moved to Manhattan, KS and attended Kansas State University. He graduated from the KSU College of Veterinary Medicine in 1966. After earning his DVM, Dr. Mosier worked in Wichita and Nebraska before he joined the Army Veterinary Corps. He served 2 years as a food inspection officer and SAO. In 1970, Dr. Mosier moved to Hays, KS and joined Hays Veterinary Hospital with Dr. Paul McRae. In 1972, he became a partner with Dr. John Locke. In 1995, Dr. Mosier became the full owner of Hays Veterinary Hospital. He served 1 term as the KVMA President in 1992 and was named Veterinarian of the Year in Kansas in 2000. He is a member of AVMA and KVMA. He married his wife Linda in 1965 and they have 4 daughters, 4 grandsons and 1 granddaughter. He has had 4 brothers, 3 nephews and 1 niece in Veterinary Medicine. At home he has 2 cats, Peanut and Little One. His shadow that follows him to the clinic is his French Bulldog, Pogo. After 45 plus years, Dr. Mosier still enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine, but particularly enjoys the value of serving the ÂÂhuman/animal bond.
