Veterinarian Overview
A native of Corinth, MS, Dr. Payne attended Northeast Mississippi Community College and Mississippi State University. He graduated from Mississippi State College of Veterinary Medicine in 2000. After graduating, Dr. Payne spent one year in Memphis, TN, before moving to Oxford and joining the Animal Clinic of Oxford. Dr. Payne enjoys training and trialing his labrador retrievers in licensed UKC and AKC hunt tests. He also raises one to two litters of puppies a year. He is an avid duck hunter as well. Dr. Payne also enjoys fishing, snow skiing and scuba diving. Dr. Payne is an Eagle Scout and received the Deans Pegasus Award in 2000. He is an active member of College Hill Presbyterian Church. Dr. Paynes special interests are in canine reproduction and internal medicine. Dr. Payne's wife, Rachel, is a graduate of the University of Mississippi School of Law and is presently employed with Takeda Pharmaceuticals as a Pharmaceutical representative. They have one daughter, Peyton.
