Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Peter J. Mangold graduated from the University of California, San Diego, with a bachelor's degree in Animal Physiology and conducted independent research at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography. He did post graduate research in animal physiology and behavior while working with marine mammals at Steinhart Aquarium in San Francisco before returning to San Diego for more post graduate work in Comparative Physiology with research in the exercise physiology of hummingbirds. Dr. Mangold received his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from the University of California, Davis, School of Veterinary Medicine in 1997. He practiced in the East Bay for two years before moving to Contra Costa County in 1999. He has been active in the professional veterinary community as Past-President of the Contra Costa Veterinary Medical Association (CCVMA) and has been a member of the Board of Directors for the CCVMA since 2002. He is a member of the California Veterinarian Medical Association (CVMA) and has been the Contra Costa County's Representative to the House of Delegates for the CVMA. He is also a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA). Dr. Mangold lives locally and enjoys golf and time with his children.
