Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Risa Barrett graduated from Harvard University with a Bachelor of Arts degree cum laude in Biology. She received her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from the University of California Davis School of Veterinary Medicine in 1990. The following year she completed an internship in Small Animal Medicine and Surgery at the University of Missouri-Columbia. Dr. Barrett practiced full time in Alameda County before she moved to Contra Costa County. She has served on the Board of Directors and as Treasurer for the Alameda County Veterinary Medical Association (ACVMA) and is currently a member of the AVMA, CVMA, CCVMA and the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA). Dr. Barrett lives locally and enjoys running, hiking, reading, and spending time with her family.
