Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Jennifer Gih achieved her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at Kansas State University in 2013. She is a California native and earned her bachelors of Science in Biology at the University of California, Los Angeles. She was most recently an Associate Veterinarian in Fresno California, working in a large AAHA multi-doctor practice. Dr. Gih lives with a 3 year old Jack Russell Mix, named Angus. She often brings him to work! Ask to meet him! I knew I wanted to be a veterinarian from the time I was 5 years old. My family visited the zoo often and I was fascinated with animals at a young age. As I grew up I became involved with animal shelters and wildlife rehabilitation centers. During my first job as a veterinary technician I remember helping to care for a Chihuahua that had been bitten by a rattlesnake. His face and neck had swelled to twice the size of normal and he seemed miserable. He stayed in the hospital for several days. Back for his recheck post treatment he was happy, wagging his tail, and kissing everyone. His owner was so happy and so grateful. The best part of being in this profession is being able to help both people and animals. I want all my clients to know that I will treat their pets the way I would treat my own, providing them with the very best care. I want the clients that I help to feel free to contact me at any time and as often as necessary. I am happy to be a part of IVS because the veterinarians and hospital staff strives to stay current on medical and surgical techniques in order to provide the best care possible for our patients.
