Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Elizabeth (Liz) Sufit always knew she wanted to become a veterinarian. Dr. Sufit first started working at a small animal veterinary practice in Northern Virginia at age 16, where her first love, was for animal welfare in combination with veterinary medical care. Dr. Sufit attended Cornell University in New York where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in biology. She then went on to receive her doctorate of veterinary medicine from Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine. After graduating in 1986, Dr. Sufit moved to California and started practicing at Pleasanton Veterinary Hospital since 1995. Dr. Sufit is an active member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the Contra Costa Veterinary Medical Association. She has served on the board of directors as well as president of the Contra Costa Veterinary Medical Association. Dr. Sufit continues to attend many local and national veterinary conferences to stay current with new medical advancements. Her interests include animal behavior, preventive care, geriatric care, internal medicine, dermatology and most of all, human-animal bond. Dr. Sufit strives to keep her patients happy and healthy. Dr. Sufit shares her home with her husband, Howard, their children, Hannah and Sam, and their pets Lewis, a spaniel border collie mix, and Toby, and a terrier mix. Dr. Sufit enjoys spending her free time gardening, crafting, reading, and hiking.
