Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Lisa Shapiro was born and raised in San Francisco and grew up riding horses and volunteering at the local animal shelter. This passion for animals continued throughout her academic career and led her to a Bachelors Degree in biochemistry and molecular biology and a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine both from UC Davis. Dr. Shapiro completed a one year rotating internship at a busy Bay Area specialty and emergency practice and has been enjoying practicing small animal medicine since then. Her areas of interest include internal medicine, dermatology, and anesthesia and pain management. She is passionate about helping pet owners make the best medical decisions for their family. Dr. Shapiro lives in the East Bay with her husband, black Labrador, Hopper, and mischievous cat, Dusty. She enjoys traveling, backpacking, horseback riding and spending time with her family
