Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Anna DeVincenzi is a general practitioner here at Irving Pet Hospital. She earned her undergraduate degreesa BA in Psychobiology with a minor in Psychologyat the University of California at Santa Cruz in 1995. During her undergraduate studies she volunteered at the Long Marine Laboratory in Santa Cruz where she worked with sea lions for three years. She also worked as a volunteer at the Marine Mammal Center in Moss Landing. In 2001, Dr. DeVincenzi entered University of California at Davis School of Veterinary Medicine where she earned a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2005. Dr. DeVincenzi's areas of professional interest include medicine and surgery. She is a member of the California Veterinary Medical Association, American Veterinary Medical Association, Peninsula Veterinary Medical Association, and the San Francisco Veterinary Medical Association. Raised in Los Altos, California, she says her desire to become a veterinarian started at a young age. "My family always had dogs and cats while I was growing up, and I experienced the joy that a pet can bring to your life," she says. "I realized then that my love and compassion for animals and their welfare could be best expressed by becoming a veterinarian. Being a veterinarian combines my love for animals along with an avid interest in science and medicine." At home, Dr. DeVincenzi has a domestic shorthair cat named Clara. Beyond her animal care responsibilities, she enjoys most outdoor activities such as hiking, camping, skiing, and biking. She also likes to travel, bake/cook, and dance.
