Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Jessica Lain Jackson has been a member of the St. Francis' Pet Hospital team since May 2014. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the Indiana Veterinary Medical Association, and her professional interests include surgery, intestinal medicine, cytology and general veterinary medicine.Dr. Jackson attended Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis, graduating with a degree in Prevet Biology in 2005. She then attended Purdue University, earning her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2009.Dr. Jackson grew up in Mooresville, Indiana, where her father was a veterinarian at Mooresville Vet Clinic. She worked at St. Francis' Pet Hospital to gain experience before starting her career as a veterinarian. She says being a veterinarian is "a very rewarding profession. Being able to help the helpless is challenging and exciting. Every day is different."At home Dr. Jackson has a Chihuahua named Huckleberry Finn, a red tick coon hound named Bia, a cat named Wiggi, a rabbit named Yoshi Von Fuzz Nugget, and a guinea pig named Weeble Wooble Carmel Sunday. In her free time she enjoys running, camping, hiking, and spending time with her husband, Shad, and their kids, Kavin and Ellie
