Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Martin DeAngelis received both his Bachelor of Science in Veterinary Medicine and Doctor of Veterinary Science from the University of Illinois. He took both Internship and Residency at the Animal Medical Center in Manhattan, and later held positions there as Chief of Orthopedic Services and Chief of Surgery. He is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons, has authored numerous scientific publications, and has lectured throughout the United States and Europe. Throughout his career he has earned numerous accolades and honors, including the Legend Award in 2006 from the American College of Veterinary Surgeons. Given in recognition of surgical procedures that have proven their value by becoming the treatment of choice for a specific condition, the ACVS has only awarded this honor twice in its long history. In addition, the veterinary community worldwide recognizes Dr. DeAngelis as the innovator of what is the best practice for the extracapsular surgical technique in the repair of cranial cruciate ligament ruptures, which has improved the lives of hundreds of thousands of animal owners and their pets. Pet owners from Westchester County and well beyond have come to rely on Dr. DeAngelis for his expertise in orthopedic surgery, cancer-related surgery, laser surgery, neurosurgery and soft-tissue surgery, and for his compassionate treatment of their loved ones.
