Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Patrick Gavin received his DVM at Washington State University in Pullman, Washington in 1971 and PhD at Colorado State University in 1980. He was at Washington State University from 1979 to 2008 and is currently a WSU Professor Emeritus in Radiology and Radiation Oncology. Dr. Gavin is a Diplomate in the American College of Veterinary Radiology and is also boarded in the ACVR Radiation Oncology Affiliate. He has authored over 100 reviewed papers, several book chapters and has done over 300 presentations on numerous subjects. Over the last 10 years he has lectured on small animal MRI to over 100 audiences of approximately 15,000 veterinarians. Dr. Gavin has over 25 years experience in magnetic resonance imaging of small animals and has reviewed over 80,000 cases to date. Dr. Gavin authored the book with Dr. Rodney Bagley, Practical Small Animal MRI, the first clinically oriented book on the subject in the profession.
