Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Carol Popolow Abraham received her Bachelor of Science degree from Cornell University in 1986. She combined her first year of veterinary school with her senior year at Cornell and completed her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at the New York State of College of Veterinary Medicine at Cornell University in 1989. Her post-doctoral internship in Small Animal Medicine and Surgery was completed in 1990 at the Oradell Animal Hospital in New Jersey. Dr. Popolow Abrahams early practice years were spent in Southampton, NY and she has been with the Croton Animal Hospital since 1999. Dr. Popolow Abrahams general small animal practice includes dogs, cats, pocket pets (rabbits, guinea pigs, rodents), reptiles, and birds. In addition to general small animal practice Dr. Popolow Abraham has an interest in animal behavioral medicine and had the opportunity to be involved in marine mammal rescue and rehabilitation on Long Island as head consulting veterinarian with the Riverhead Foundation. Dr. Popolow Abraham is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the New York State Veterinary Medical Association, the Westchester-Rockland Veterinary Medical Association, the American Veterinary Society of Animal Behavior, and the Wildlife Veterinary Society. Dr. Popolow Abraham has been consulted for and quoted in several publications including Cat Fancy Magazine, DVM magazine, The Philadelphia Times, and the CBS Evening News.
