Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Lea Becker grew up around the Sacandaga Resevoir area, graduated from Broadalbin-Perth High School in 1997, completed her undergraduate degree at St. Lawrence University in 2001 and went on to pursue her DVM at St. Georges University graduating in 2005. She began her career in Bar Harbor, Maine as a general practitioner before moving back to the Capital District area. During her time back in New York she practiced full time as a general practitioner and also pursued her interest in emergency medicine through per diem work at all of the local emergency clinics. As time passed, her passion for emergency medicine grew and she transitioned out of general veterinary medicine to full-time emergency work. Dr. Becker lives in Ballston Spa with her dog, Hadley and kitty, Jack, both of which came into her life as injured strays. She loves the outdoors and Adirondacks and spends as much time out and about in them through all of the NY seasons!
