Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Jennifer Safford (formerly Smith) hails from the Southern Tier region of New York State. Jen grew up having backyard horses both at home and at her grandparents, and has been a horse lover ever since. She even took lessons one summer specifically to learn how to get on a horse without jumping on their backs from a picnic table. Jens family trains and races Standardbred racehorses. Occasionally, they even ship in to the Saratoga Harness track so she can see them in person. Jen is a third generation veterinarianher grandmother, grandfather, and father are all graduates of Cornells College of Veterinary Medicine. Jen continued the tradition and received her DVM from Cornell in 2006! In September 2012, Jen married Adam Safford on a lovely rainy day. They had a daughter in October 2014, and occasionally you will see Miss Kennedy riding along with her mom on calls. Jen still has her favorite Rottweiler named Charli. When time allows, Jen and Adam enjoy riding their Harley-Davidsons, snowmobiling, and spending time with family and friends. You will see Jen mainly in Columbia and Rensselaer Counties in New York and Berkshire County in Massachusetts.
