Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Perry earned her Bachelors degree in Biological Sciences from Mount Holyoke College in 1992 and Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Cornell University in 1996; she joined Burrstone Animal Hospital just a few weeks later and will soon celebrate 20 years of practice with us. Dr. Perry grew up next to a large Morgan horse farm in Central New York. It was there, as she watched the vets working on the horses, that she first developed her love of veterinary medicine. At different times in her childhood, her life was filled with cats, dogs, chickens, ducks, goats, a parrot, a parakeet and dairy cattle. When she started her college internship at a veterinary practice, she thought she would be bored not being out on the farms. Instead she discovered that a career in companion animal medicine was the right path for her. Dr Perry enjoys spending time with her cat, Swiffer and her Labrador Retriever, Ballot, with whom she participates in various dog sports including agility, rally and nose work.
