Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Hofmeister has roots in the immediate West Newton/Rostraver area. His grandparents come from West Newton, Fellsburg, and Forward Township (Pangburn Hollow). His parents (Norm and Becky Hofmeister) are small business owners in Charleroi. Dr. Hofmeister grew up in Carroll Township and graduated from Ringgold High School in 1998. He attended Washington & Jefferson College for undergraduate education, where he earned a BA with majors in mathematics and physics. After graduating from W&J, Aaron attended Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, OK for his veterinary education, graduating in 2006. He spent a year at Purdue University completing a rotating internship in small animal internal medicine, dentistry, and surgery. He has been in private practice at a few different locations in Pennsylvania since completing that internship: Warren, Butler, Monongahela, and most recently, Mount Pleasant. It has been his long-term goal (and hence the multiple moves) to own a practice. Aaron has wanted to be able to treat clients and practice veterinary medicine the best ways he knows how. Dr. Hofmeister is married with 2 children. His wife, Renee, is originally from Butler, and she is currently a kindergarten teacher in the Bentworth School District (they dont know which is more challenging herding cats or kindergarteners!). Their daughter, Madeline, was born in July 2013 and they recently welcomed her baby brother in April 2015. The Hofmeisters have one dog at present, an amputee German Shorthaired Pointer named Judge. Professionally, Dr. Hofmeister has a special interest in ophthalmology and dentistry, though he enjoys the variety that veterinary medicine provides. Outside of work, he enjoys travel, gardening, and home-improvement projects.
