Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Connor joined the NKAH team early in the fall of 2015. Born and raised in Southeastern Massachusetts, she initially obtained her business degree and held several successful administrative roles in the fields of venture capital, emergency medical transportation, and general health care. After the tragic events of 9/11, she decided to pursue her childhood dream of becoming a Veterinarian. In 2004, she moved to Rhode Island and enrolled the following year into the University of Rhode Islands veterinary program. In May of 2013, she obtained her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the Atlantic Veterinary College on Prince Edward Island, Canada.Dr. Connor practiced for two years locally working with companion animals and horses. She has particular interest in nutrition, dental prophylaxis, and alternative therapies such as acupuncture, chiropractics and laser therapy.Outside of work, Lisa enjoys time at home on her family farm with two Great Pyrenees dogs, four cats, and four horses, a Belgian/Appaloosa gelding, Quarter Horse mare, Paint gelding and miniature gelding. Dr. Connor is an active member of the Great Pyrenees Club of America and enjoys attending local and regional dog shows. Boating with her family in the Salt Pond and trips to Block Island with the dogs are also a cherished pastime.
