Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Mark Lehnert attended the University of Minnesota-Duluth, where he received his Bachelors of Science Degree in Biology in 1993. He then attended Utah State University, where he was awarded a Masters Degree in Wildlife Biology.Dr. Lehnert worked as a wildlife biologist in upstate New York for two years prior to returning to Minnesota and entering the University Of Minnesota College Of Veterinary Medicine. As a veterinary student, he received several academic awards and scholarships. Dr. Lehnert was awarded his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2003 and has since developed an interest in veterinary dentistry. He has received advanced training in performing surgical tooth extractions, root canals, vital pulpotomies and other dental procedures. Dr. Lehnert is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, Minnesota Veterinary Medical Association, the American Animal Hospital Association and the American Veterinary Dental Society. Dr. Lehnert became co-owner of South Hyland Pet Hospital in 2012.Dr. Lehnert, his wife Sarah and their daughters, Audrey, Evelyn and Corinne have a Pomeranian named Peanut. Dr. Lehnerts outside hobbies and activities include photography, camping, canoeing, hunting and competing in triathlons.
