Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Sean Wells received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine in 2004. He continued his veterinary education with a general internship at Bay Area Veterinary Specialists, followed by a surgical internship and then a 3-year small animal surgery residency with Veterinary Surgical Associates. In 2010 Dr. Wells earned his board certification from the American College of Veterinary Surgeons and founded Nor Cal Veterinary Emergency + Specialty Hospital in 2012. Seans surgical interests include orthopedic and oncologic surgery with a special interest in minimally invasive techniques (arthroscopy / laparoscopy / thoracoscopy), reconstructive procedures, and joint replacement. His research has focused on perioperative analgesia as well as oncologic staging techniques. Sean grew up in the mountains northeast of Ojai, California. He enjoys surfing, hockey, snowboarding, and any activity involving the water. At home he enjoys cooking, home-brewing beer, and relaxing with his cats.
